SAI provides process design, equipment selection, installation and process development for Twin Screw Extruder compounding or extrusion systems. We have installed and operated three twin screw extruder systems for processing energetic materials. These systems typically include bulk powder feed systems, liquid feed using precision metering pumps or positive displacement pumps with mass flow meters, vacuum systems with solvent recovery, bulk material transfer using corrugated trough conveyors, granulation using rotary sieves and drying using hot water heated plate dryers or vertical spiral dryers.
